Book Review: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
With the start of the school year, reading is usually one of the furthest things from most people's minds. But for the people with time (if that's even possible) then this book may just be for you! Sounds like I'm selling it right? Well in actual fact there is little selling that I could do that the book doesn't do for itself.
The Night Circus spans several decades, jumping around quite a bit as it unravels more of its mysteries. The setting? A mysterious black and white circus that arrives with no warning and leaves with even less. The main characters include two magicians who have been unwillingly forced into a game by their teachers. These two cause many of the magical happenings at the circus as they attempt to compete in a game where they do not know the rules, or how the winner is chosen. The circus is a magical place, with mazes of clouds, a tent full of acrobats and twisting paths that always seem to lead you to somewhere new.
This book is a quick read, if only because you wish to know what happens next. Personally I loved it, although I was not the only one. It's a Heather's Choice and has many glowing reviews (this one included). I can assure you that reading it will capture your imagination and you will have a hard time letting it go. While the book includes a lot of description, it helps add to your imagination, creating a scene so lifelike it's almost as if you could see it.
