The perfect boyfriend would be strong and chivalrous enough to swoop me off my feet and carry me over puddles; but soft and sensitive enough to cry every time cute puppies came on television.

The perfect boyfriend would be a true intellectual. He would discuss activist films providing insight and inspire me intellectually; but humble enough that he would recognize that I possessed a superior mind.

The perfect boyfriend would be mature and civilized enough that we would dress up and attend the opera theatre after fine dining for an exquisite musical experience; but yet he would be in touch with his inner child that we would finger paint the walls of our house while listening to rock n' roll music.

The perfect boyfriend would be a doctor without borders but is an expert in both Swedish and shiatsu massage and is convinced that no massage is complete without aroma therapy and he loves that I allow him to practice his technique on me daily.

The perfect boyfriend is madly in love with me. He expresses his undying love for me through poetic songs that he writes, sings, and performs for me; but yet he is an independent and free spirited man who pursues a diverse set of hobbies and interests outside of me.

The perfect boyfriend would be an early bird. He would get up in the wee hours of the morning to make me breakfast, pick fresh flowers, and clean the house. He would tip toe around our old and creaky floors to not wake me up because he understands the importance of my beauty sleep and realizes that it can only do good things for our relationship.

The perfect boyfriend is a traditional man who believes in strong values and etiquette; but yet he is progressive and cutting-edge. He believes every man should practice responsible domestic teamwork. He contributes and initiates cleaning and the upkeep of our household without complaints or compulsive and demanding tendencies.

The perfect boyfriend is conservative in many aspects of his life even his style choices reflect his nature. He does not sew his ego on his clothes by wearing 'bling' or designer sunglasses that he wears indoors. Instead, he is  down to earth and enjoys walking bare foot around town.

The perfect boyfriend is highly sociable and enjoys talking to every individual. He makes the rounds at our formal dinner parties and is a master at small talk, but yet he is not a scumbag. He really does care how the children and wife are doing.

The perfect boyfriend is a man who enjoys a good game, but does not sit around the house on Sundays with his hairy man friends and smear chicken wings on my white IKEA sofa. He prefers to attend my Saturday morning yoga class with the girls and talk about the perfect outfits shown for that season.

The perfect boyfriend enjoys joking, rough housing and practicing the male art of playfully making fun of his male friends; by tackling and wrestling them in pursuit of the game controller, but yet he is not mean or aggressive and he understand that he cannot always be in control.

The perfect boyfriend is insecure at times. He often feels awkward or uncomfortable in his skin but it usually comes off as charming and endearing. He is shy, but yet he is comfortable enough to be secure in his sexuality and express himself openly as a gay man.
