Playlist: Road Trip Songs

Monday, October 17th, 2011

I decided to write a playlist designed for long car rides with your parents. My inspiration was an 8 hour long 'road trip' (pretty much a glorified sardine can with wheels that lacked silence and privacy) with my parents for thanksgiving weekend. I decided to turn my lemons into lemonade, so in order to keep myself from slipping into a coma, I turned all my energy to writing a playlist to prevent other kids from suffering traumas caused by listening to one's parents sing '99 bottles of beer on the wall'.

Road Trip Playlist:

Take It Easy by Eagles

Spinning Wheel by Blood, Sweat and Tears

Revolution by The Beatles

Dancing In The Street by The Mama's And The Papa's

Pack Up by Eliza Doolittle

Happy Together by The Turtles

Signed, Sealed, Delivered by Stevie Wonder

My Party by Kings Of Leon

ABC by Michael Jackson

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen

Peace Train by Cat Stevens

Jet Plane by Peter, Paul and Mary

Sally Is A by Shwayze

I Feel The Earth Move by Carole King

Bennie And The Jets by Elton John

Feelin Groovy by Simon and Garfunkle

Let Me Roll It by The Beatles

Light My Fire by The Doors

When I See You by Macy Gray

Shake Me Down by Cage The Elephant

Poets by Tragically Hip

Fortunate Son by Credence Clearwater Revival

China Groove by The Doobie Brothers

Drive My Car by The Beatles

Hopefully, with the help of this playlist, you girls will be able to successfully tune out your parents once they begin their incredibly boring and excruciatingly long rants that always begin seconds after the car gas is started. Let the music decompress you as you spend hours in a confined space with two of the most dreary, farty people alive.

You're welcome.
